Please join collector Dr. Philippe Cohen and CCA Tel Aviv-Yafo Director and Curator Nicola Trezzi for a conversation about ideas related to the practice of Claude Rutault (*1941, Les Trois-Moutiers; †2022, Boulogne-Billancourt, France), whose work Peinture sur toile contenue dans un coffret (2022) is presented as part of “Radu Comșa: inter-versions,” currently on view at the Center. During their conversation, Cohen and Trezzi will discuss topics such as “the death of painting,” “picture versus image,” and “the disappearance of the artwork,” which were pivotal for the creation of Cohen’s collection in the 1990s and represent still today a guiding principle for his understanding of contemporary art.
